Wes Duncan,

City of Sparks Attorney

Bio

Wes Duncan was sworn in as the 17th Sparks City Attorney on April 25, 2022. Before becoming City Attorney, Mr. Duncan held a variety of legal positions including the Chief Assistant City Attorney for the City of Sparks, felony prosecutor at the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office, First Assistant Attorney General for the State of Nevada, partner at a private law firm, and was an elected State Assemblyman, and active-duty Air Force Judge Advocate where he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving active duty, he joined the Air Force Reserve and currently serves in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as the reserve Staff Judge Advocate to the 940th Wing at Beale Air Force Base. Passionate about public service, Mr. Duncan is enthusiastic about serving the citizens of Sparks, delivering justice for victims, partnering with law enforcement to keep our community safe and providing top notch legal advice to protect City resources.



Drawing from the teachings of Dallas Willard and John Mark Comer, Wes will explore how our work—no matter the field—can become a powerful expression of our walk with Christ.

With a career spanning military service, public office, and legal leadership, Wes brings a grounded and compelling perspective on integrating faith into every corner of professional life. His message will challenge us to reframe our daily work not as a separate compartment, but as sacred ground where God’s purposes are lived out.
